Alright, so you’ve heard the word, and maybe know someone who works with it. But why do so many businesses and web developers love it so much?

WordPress is a free and open source software you can use to create beautiful websites, blogs, or online stores. It hit the market in 2003 and has since gone from being a blogger’s favored choice to the recommended platform for many major businesses.

But why WordPress? Well, the reason is simple. So many choose WordPress because of its flexibility and for its expansive library of themes and plugins. And as of filming this video, 43% of the entire internet use WordPress.
What’s even more interesting about this platform is that you can host it anywhere you want unlike it’s competitors Squarespace, Wix, and GoDaddy sitebuilder. This means you have more control and say over your website.

However, there is a darker side to WordPress. Security. Since WordPress is the most popular website software on the internet, that means there are a plethora of vulnerabilities that, if not protected properly, can cause a variety of problems that range from small inconveniences to website-destroying beasts.

So it’s imperative that if you have a WordPress website it is properly secured and maintained regularly to prevent issues.

WordPress is an amazing software that can provide a vast array of designs and functionalities without having to code. And when built well can be an amazing tool for your business’s growth.
